Today, we explored how food connects to identity, culture, and belonging across the TED Talk, Fish Cheeks, and the Mississippi Delta film. How does food help individuals understand who they are, especially when they feel caught between cultures or judged by others? In your response, be sure to include at least one example from at least (TED Talk, Fish Cheeks, or the Mississippi Delta film) to support your thinking.

Today we watched a movie and saw how food brought their culture out. Today I learned how food is not only enjoying but also what brings together. It helps them understand because they learn from their culture and ancestors. It’s part of who they are and keep the tradition going. You don’t judge a food or dish no matter the culture instead embrace and learn from other cultures

Describe a hike, long walk, or outdoor experience you have had and explain what it was like physically and mentally. If you have never been on a hike, describe a time when you were outside your comfort zone or had to rely on yourself in a challenging situation. Explain what you learned from the experience.

Pretend you are writing a blog entry as Celie; the moment you uncover the hidden letters. Describe what you would think, say, and do, and how this discovery would reshape how you see Mister and yourself. Reflect on why this moment would matter so much and how it would change your next choices.

These letters show how Celie learns from the people around her, even in small ways. Think of someone in your life who influences you in a positive, everyday way—a friend, relative, teacher, or teammate. Write about what you’ve learned from them and how their influence shows up in your daily life.
