Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

Today we worked on making our own simile and metaphors. Today I learned how it’s a bit challenging to make my own metaphors like I get stuck. I learned how easy it is to put all my emotions and thoughts felt or min can be converted to something simple. I saw how well developed I have become based on all these topics given. Another thing I saw was me being able to see the struggles I went through and how I handled them. Going through all these struggles made me be the person I am today . This shows how I could express these moments in my life like if it was quicker than a clock. I learned how I was capable of doing this assignment with challenges I’ve faced as simile and metaphors.

Describe a hike, long walk, or outdoor experience you have had and explain what it was like physically and mentally. If you have never been on a hike, describe a time when you were outside your comfort zone or had to rely on yourself in a challenging situation. Explain what you learned from the experience.

Pretend you are writing a blog entry as Celie; the moment you uncover the hidden letters. Describe what you would think, say, and do, and how this discovery would reshape how you see Mister and yourself. Reflect on why this moment would matter so much and how it would change your next choices.

These letters show how Celie learns from the people around her, even in small ways. Think of someone in your life who influences you in a positive, everyday way—a friend, relative, teacher, or teammate. Write about what you’ve learned from them and how their influence shows up in your daily life.
