As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?

When this old friend of mine ; we used to hate each other before we met. We used to see each other all the time but we barely even talked. Time passed and we started talking and communicating more. It felt weird because we still didn't know how each other's personalities were.Later on I decided to play volleyball and he would play on my time . He would always hit the ball if it were to come my way . Over time we got into further communication but yet we still would try to keep a distance . People would joke around that we would end up dating especially some friends and family members. Not until later on I found out he actually had feeling and so did I . But I knew I had seen no future towards it and I had to stop and keep a distance from him . I had to be straight up with him and he them agreed to be friends and keep the same vibe as we had before as later on we both went separate ways and ended up being in a relationship just not with each other. Today we worked on reading the book and answering the questions from the book on writable . Today I learned how Shug and Celie started to get into deeper connection with each other after Celie started combing her hair .

Describe a hike, long walk, or outdoor experience you have had and explain what it was like physically and mentally. If you have never been on a hike, describe a time when you were outside your comfort zone or had to rely on yourself in a challenging situation. Explain what you learned from the experience.

Pretend you are writing a blog entry as Celie; the moment you uncover the hidden letters. Describe what you would think, say, and do, and how this discovery would reshape how you see Mister and yourself. Reflect on why this moment would matter so much and how it would change your next choices.

These letters show how Celie learns from the people around her, even in small ways. Think of someone in your life who influences you in a positive, everyday way—a friend, relative, teacher, or teammate. Write about what you’ve learned from them and how their influence shows up in your daily life.
